Pictory vs InVideo: Pricing, Workflow and Which to Choose

Pictory vs InVideo is mostly a question of where your video starts. Pictory fits teams that already have a script, blog post, slide deck or long recording and want it turned into a stock-footage video with captions and a voiceover. InVideo fits creators who want AI agents and generative video models to build new footage from a prompt, then refine it on a full timeline.
Key points (every plan and price below was checked on Pictory's and InVideo's official pricing pages and InVideo's help center on October 21, 2026):
- Pictory meters video minutes: Starter includes 2,400 video minutes a year for $25 a month billed annually. InVideo meters credits: Starter includes 400 credits a month for $20 a month on monthly billing.
- Pictory offers a 14-day free trial with 15 video minutes and 720p export. InVideo has a free plan with limited credits that reset every Monday.
- InVideo's unused plan credits do not roll over, and manual timeline editing does not use credits.
- Pictory's pricing table includes automatic video highlights from recordings up to 60 minutes on Starter and 180 minutes on Professional.
- Deepege, our own product, is covered briefly at the end and is not part of the comparison.

How we compared Pictory and InVideo
We read both official pricing pages in a browser on October 21, 2026, switched InVideo between monthly and annual billing, and checked two InVideo help center articles on the free plan and on credits. Pictory's monthly-billing toggle did not load for us, so we only quote its prices "billed annually". InVideo's annual prices carried a 50% promotional label that day, so we quote its monthly prices as the base and mention the promotion separately.
We did not make test videos, so this guide does not judge output quality, voice realism or how faithful each tool is to your script. We also left out review-site ratings and customer counts. If a limit matters to you, open the linked pricing pages before you buy, because both companies change plans often.
What is the difference between Pictory and InVideo?
Pictory is a script-to-video and recording-editing tool: you paste a script or a blog URL, upload slides, or upload a recording, and it builds scenes from stock footage with captions and a voiceover. Its pricing page lists script to video, blog to video, PowerPoint to video, text-based editing of recordings, automatic subtitles and automatic video highlights on its plans (Pictory pricing).
InVideo is a generative video studio: AI agents (Agent Two Lite, Pro and Ultra, depending on the plan) and third-party video and image models create new footage, and a multiplayer timeline editor with color, audio and 3D tools is available on every plan (InVideo pricing). The same page lists models such as Seedance, Veo 3.1, Sora 2 and Kling.
In short, Pictory reshapes material you already have, while InVideo generates new material and gives you an editor to finish it.
Pricing: Pictory video minutes vs InVideo credits
Pictory sells video minutes per year, while InVideo sells credits per month whose cost depends on the AI model you use.
| Plan (Oct 21, 2026) | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Pictory Starter | $25/month billed annually | 2,400 video minutes/year, 1 user, 1080p, no watermark, 1 brand kit |
| Pictory Professional | $35/month billed annually | 7,200 video minutes/year, custom avatars, voice cloning, 5 brand kits |
| Pictory Team | $119/month billed annually | 21,600 video minutes/year, 3+ users, team workspace |
| InVideo Starter | $20/seat/month billed monthly | 400 credits/month, Agent Two Lite, timeline editor |
| InVideo Plus | $60/seat/month billed monthly | 2,000 credits/month, all agents and models |
| InVideo Max | $135/seat/month billed monthly (shown with a 10% discount) | 5,000 credits/month, lowest cost per credit |
On Pictory, the yearly minute allowance is easy to plan against: 2,400 minutes a year averages 200 minutes a month on Starter. Pictory's Professional price was labelled an "Exclusive Pictory 2.0 offer" on the day we checked.
On InVideo, credits work like a currency across agents and models. InVideo's pricing page equates Starter's 400 credits to about 160 Nano Banana Pro images or about 15 Seedance 2.0 Fast videos, at roughly 30 credits per Seedance 2.0 Fast video. InVideo's help center says video models are priced per second, exporting and downloading do not use credits, and manual timeline editing is free (InVideo plans and credits). The pricing page also says InVideo may update credit costs at any time and that unused credits do not roll over. On annual billing, InVideo showed $10, $30 and $75 per seat a month with a 50% promotional label.

The practical difference: a Pictory plan gives you a fixed number of output minutes, while an InVideo plan gives you a budget that shrinks faster when you choose more expensive models, longer clips or higher resolutions.
Free trial vs free plan: which lets you test more?
Pictory's free trial runs for 14 days and includes 15 video minutes, videos up to 5 minutes long and 720p export, according to the comparison table on its pricing page. Paid plans raise the limit to 30 minutes per script or URL video and 1080p.
InVideo has an ongoing free plan that needs no card. Its help center says the free plan gives limited credits for its features, including image generation in the Agents & Models flow, and that the quota resets weekly on Monday at 12 a.m. UTC (Can I use InVideo AI for free?). The pages we read did not list the free plan's export terms, so check them before you publish a free-plan video.
Voiceover, avatars and languages
Pictory Starter includes 720 minutes a year of ElevenLabs AI voices in 29 languages; Professional raises that to 1,440 minutes and adds unlimited standard voices in 7 languages, two custom avatars and two voice clones. All plans let you upload your own voiceover and sync it to the video automatically.
InVideo lists an AI voice generator, voice cloning and an AI avatar generator among its tools, and ElevenLabs and Minimax among its audio models. Voice and avatar generation draw on the same monthly credits as video.
If your main need is a voiceover for a script you already have, you can draft it first with our free AI voiceover generator and compare it with each tool's voices.
Editing and repurposing long recordings
Pictory is built to repurpose recordings. Its "Edit recorded videos with AI" features include text-based editing, automatic subtitles and automatic video highlights, with source videos up to 60 minutes on the trial and Starter and up to 180 minutes on Professional and Team. That makes it a candidate for webinars and podcasts, alongside the clip makers in our Opus Clip alternatives guide.
InVideo's timeline editor is available on every plan, including Starter, with multiplayer editing (up to 5 seats on Starter). Because manual editing does not use credits, you can spend as long as you need on trimming and arranging generated clips. If you mainly edit by transcript, our Descript alternatives guide compares text-based editors.
Pictory or InVideo: which should you choose?
Choose by your starting material and by how you want to be billed:
- You start from a script, blog post or slide deck: Pictory, because script, URL and PowerPoint to video are its core workflows and minutes are fixed per plan.
- You start from an idea and want new AI footage: InVideo, because its agents and generative models create original scenes.
- You repurpose webinars or podcasts: Pictory, for text-based editing and automatic highlights from long recordings.
- You want to edit on a full timeline: InVideo, where manual timeline editing is free of credits.
- You want to try before paying: InVideo's free plan is ongoing; Pictory's trial lasts 14 days.
Before you write the script, our free video script generator can give you a first draft to paste into either tool.
Where Deepege fits (our product)
Deepege (引擎AI) is our own product and is not part of the comparison above. It is an AI marketing agent for Chinese businesses: it plans a marketing video shot by shot, uses your own footage first and fills gaps with public assets, AI shots or digital avatars, then waits for your approval before making the video, with voice, subtitles, text overlays and cover finished together. It suits teams publishing every week to Douyin, Kuaishou, WeChat Channels, Xiaohongshu and TikTok. There is no public price list; pricing follows a fit assessment (Deepege pricing). If you only need a script-to-video tool, Pictory or InVideo is the more direct choice; if you work with AI avatars, see HeyGen vs D-ID.
Conclusion
Pictory and InVideo both turn text into video, but they are priced and built differently. Pictory gives a fixed number of video minutes per year for script, URL, slide and recording workflows. InVideo gives monthly credits for AI agents and generative models, plus a timeline editor that costs no credits to use. Pick Pictory to reshape what you already have, and InVideo to generate something new, then recheck both pricing pages before you commit, since both had promotional labels on October 21, 2026.
